Women In Leadership For Gender Equitable Human Resource Development in Laos

The 1st ever online pitching symposium to help empower women in Laos took place on May 4th, 2020! 20 outstanding Australian alumni were excited to pitch or present the business, research or project proposal that they have been developing with support from the second Lao Women in Leadership Program funded by the Australian Government!.

The program, launched in October 2019, is supporting alumni to increase their understanding of gender equality issues, develop leadership skills and networks, and progress in their careers.
Given current social distancing requirements in the Lao PDR it is noteworthy that the 20 participants pitched and presented their proposals from 20 different locations in Laos! Online technologies also enabled audience members to attend this event from various locations in Australia. This included our symposium chairs from Australian organisations such as Flinders University, CARE Australia and BPW – Business and Professional Women Australia.
