Vientiane, 26 November 2019 – The Australian Embassy and the Laos Australia Institute hosted OzTalk: ‘Rainbow Stories’, a panel discussion and Q&A event to discuss and share the personal experiences and vision of people from the LGBTI+ community in Australia and Laos – and featured Australian social entrepreneur and youth activist Mikhara Ramsing, along with other panel members from Laos.
Moderated by one of our Lao Australian alumni, Soupha Rawady.
Lao panelists included:
- Anan Bouapha, Founder of Proud To Be Us Laos
- Olam Rasaphonh, Programme Coordinator, Community Health and Inclusion Association
- Sonthaya Xayaseng, Founder of LGBTQ Equality, and
- Inphama Basengkham, Guest speaker (a father) from LGBTQ+ community
Apart from the panel discussion, there was a dance performance from talented Fanglao Dancers who created a special performance specially for this event.
